Anti-Semitism flares up with Gaza crisis Empty
PostSubject: Anti-Semitism flares up with Gaza crisis   Anti-Semitism flares up with Gaza crisis EmptyWed Aug 06, 2014 11:38 pm

There are many takeaways from the Gaza war, including the diversion of cement and other supplies to the Hamas tunnel and rocket effort, and the use of civilian populations as a military shield.

The civilian casualties, though almost certainly overstated to include Hamas fighters in civilian clothes, are tragic.  The death of so many children is heartbreaking.
But there is another important phenomenon on which we should reflect now, even before the conflict is over: The widespread global eruption of openly anti-Semitic rhetoric and violence in the name of anti-Zionism.

Anti-Semitism has reared its head almost everywhere there are pro-Palestinian street protests.

A heavily Jewish section of Paris was looted and attacked as crowds shouted “Gas the Jews,” in what correctly has been called a pogrom.  Multiple synagogues and Jewish centers in Paris and elsewhere in France were firebombed, and neo-Nazi salutes were center stage.

In Berlin protesters shouted “Jew, cowardly pig, come out and fight.”

While in Frankfurt they carried signs such as “The Jews are Beasts” and the Star of David is “The Star of the Devil.”

In the Hague, Netherlands, crowds chanted “death to all Jews,” shocking local officials.

In England, particularly London, there have been over 100 anti-Semitic incidents, and anti-Israel protesters pushed The Protocols of the Elders of Zion anti-Semitic tract.

And it was not just overseas.  In Miami, protesters chanted “Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammed is returning,” commemorating an Islamic war victory

But I was not surprised.  I have seen this trend for years, in which anti-Zionism is the mask for anti-Semitism.  Israel alone is singled out and held to standards applied to no other country precisely because it is a Jewish state, and deemed illegitimate in the eyes of Islamists and many leftists

There also are those who truly just want Israel to leave Judea and Samaria (the “West Bank”), although the Israeli departure almost a decade ago from Gaza calls such a strategy into question.

But the exceptions prove the rule. Intellectually one can distinguish anti-Zionism from anti-Semitism. But in the real world, on the streets of Paris, Berlin, London, Boston, Miami and elsewhere, they are one and the same.

It’s time we stopped pretending otherwise

Is Thinking Obsolete?

One of the talking points against Israel is that far more Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israeli military attacks than the number of Israeli civilians killed by the Hamas rocket attacks on Israel that started this latest military conflict.

Are these protesters aware that vastly more German civilians were killed by American bombers attacking Nazi Germany during World War II than American civilians killed in the United States by Hitler's forces?

Has any other country, in any other war, been expected to keep the enemy's civilian casualties no higher than its own civilian casualties? The idea that Israel should do so did not originate among the masses but among the educated intelligentsia.

No one tolerates more than 3000 rockets being fired into their homeland just in 2014 forever. Israel has been more patient than I would have been.

I like Jews and respect them. Some of the greatest scientific minds are Jewish

Another thing that I do think is funny. Jews are leaving the democrat party in droves

Sometimes when someone [Hamas] picks a fight doesn't mean they are good at fighting... Of course Israel has had the upperhand... why do you think there's so many calling for cease fires and negotiations... If Hamas were winning...on the battlefield as well as the media the calls for cease fires and negotiations wouldn't be so loud...

The media and some nations are the ones responsible making Israel out to be the bad guys. Hamas breaks cease fires and lobs artillery and yet that's acceptable?....Even the current administration can't get their acts together at the state department...

Former President Carter called Hamas... "legitimate"....yes they are legitimate TERRORISTS...

http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/8123-insanity#ixzz1Jng16E57

Mental disease. Among the Jews the proportion of insane has been observed to be very large. From statistics collected by Buschan he concludes that they are four to six times more liable to mental disease than are non-Jews. Lombroso quotes Servi ("Gli Israeliti di Europa," 1872) to the effect that in Italy there is one insane among 391 Jews, nearly four times as many as among the Catholic population of that country. Verga ("Archivio di Statistico," 1880) shows that in 1870 there was one insane among 1,775 Catholics in Italy, while with the Jews it reached the alarming proportion of one insane in 384 of population. A similar phenomenon has been observed in other countries. In the various provinces of Germany and also in Denmark the percentage of Jewish insane is very large, as is seen from the figures in the appended table:

It is gone, due to the actions of the Israelis themselves.  It's amazing isn't it that tree and others like to complain that when they criticize the president for something totally ridiculous it is sometimes brought up that there might be a little Racism involved. Yet when someone criticizes Israel, the first thing that they bring up is anti-semitism.
Like I've said, I have two great grandmothers who were Jewish and if I were anti-semitic I doubt I'd admit that so freely.

It's okay though because when I complained about us killing a couple of hundred thousand civilians in Iraq I was then branded as anti-American too.

I guess I just must be a real self-hater. There's some Irish in me too but I don't think people over there should have killed each other over religion for so many years either.

I'm glad I know that it is all about killing innocent people or I'd have to get me to a psychiatrist really quick.

And this is all the media's fault? Yes, shame on them for showing those pictures of kids with holes in their stomachs. I'll bet the newsmen just photoshopped those pictures just like they did back during the Vietnam war to make Americans turn against that fighting too. Just like when they reported that Elvis died and we landed on the moon and Kennedy was shot. It's all a media conspiracy. Yeah, right..

Personally....have never stated that those that criticize Israel are 'anti-semites'...Have criticized those condemning only on bad policy and in the case of the current administration harming relations with a true ally....

In the case of the cowh... listen to the words of Eric Holder...some members of congress ... others in the administration and media...they've fueled the racism fires by linking criticism with deep seeded racism... The allegations come but have NEVER had any evidence to support...Now...sure someone could go out and find individual(s) that hates the cowh based on racism...but then to take individual(s) and somehow come to the conclusion that they are representative of anything/anyone else except their own ignorance and stupidity is foolish....There have been some in congress that have thrown allegations (Reid) that have proclaimed republicans are racists...then backtrack providing no evidence to support and then much later saying...well not all republicans....There's an example of an elected official that deserves to be thrown out of congress...

What's sad is that the Jews that they cry antisematism about are not real Jews. They are khazarian  Jews from north of Turkey. They have no linage to Abraham. They simply as a matter of history decided to be called Jews and are.  It's like Columbus calling the native Americans Indians, it stuck. Think I will call myself a Comanche and get me a casino.

I hadn't heard too much about that Teo, though I do remember reading something way back several years ago about the actual Jews migrating into Southern Europe and later on onto the British Isles. The theory was that the King and Queen of England were actually descended from the "true" Jewish ancestry and that under the British throne there is some kind of rock or something that came from Biblical times and proved it.
All that was supposed to be proof of the Biblical prophecy that the throne would not descend from Israel until the end times?

I wish I could remember more of what it was all about, but it's probably been a good 20 years since I first heard about it and I'm very fuzzy on it.
I kind of assumed it was just a theory.

PostSubject: Re: Anti-Semitism flares up with Gaza crisis   Anti-Semitism flares up with Gaza crisis EmptyFri Aug 08, 2014 7:12 am

this is whats going on. The pals/hahas refuse to stop bombing Israel.

(Reuters) - Israel launched air strikes across the Gaza Strip on Friday in response to Palestinian rockets fired after Egyptian-mediated talks failed to extend a 72-hour truce in the month-long war.

As rocket-warning sirens sounded in southern Israel, the military said Hamas had fired at least 18 rockets from Gaza and Israel's "Iron Dome" interceptor system brought down two. Gaza militants said they had fired 10 rockets on Friday.

In the first casualties since hostilities resumed on Friday, Palestinian medical officials said a 10-year-old boy was killed in an Israeli strike near a mosque in Gaza City. In Israel, police said two people were injured by mortar fire from Gaza.

After a huge explosion in Gaza City, apparently from an air raid, a military spokesman said Israel had responded to Hamas rocket fire by launching air strikes at "terror sites" across the Gaza Strip.

"We will continue to strike Hamas, its infrastructure, its operatives, and restore security for the State of Israel," Lieutenant-Colonel Peter Lerner said in a statement.

An Israeli government official said Israel would not negotiate with Palestinians about renewing the truce in Gaza as long as militants continued to launch rockets.

Heavy civilian casualties and destruction during Israel's campaign against militants in packed residential areas of the Gaza Strip have raised international alarm over the past month, but efforts to extend a ceasefire at talks in Cairo failed.

Israel had earlier said it was ready to agree to an extension as Egyptian go-betweens pursued negotiations with Israeli and Palestinian delegates.

Hamas said Palestinian factions had not agreed to extend the truce, but would continue negotiations in Cairo.

An Islamic Jihad official added: "Discussions in Cairo have not finished and we will pursue our efforts to stop the aggression and achieve the just demands of our people."

The Palestinians had wanted Israel to agree in principle to demands which include a lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip, the release of prisoners and the opening of a sea port.

The armed wing of Hamas released a statement late on Thursday warning Palestinian negotiators not to agree to an extension unless Israel offered concessions.

NAVAL BLOCKADE

Israel has shown little interest in easing its naval blockade of Gaza and controls on overland traffic and airspace, suspecting Hamas could restock with weapons from abroad.

Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz, speaking on Army Radio, raised the prospect of Israel relaunching a ground operation it halted on Tuesday and "taking control of the Gaza Strip in order to topple the Hamas regime".

But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shown little inclination to do so.

In Gaza, some families who had returned to their homes in the northern town of Beit Hanoun during the ceasefire gathered their belongings and headed back to the United Nations shelters where they had sought refuge over the past few weeks.

Beit Hanoun resident Yamen Mahmoud, a 35-year-old father of four, said: "Today I am fleeing again, back to displacement. I am not against resistance but we need to know what to do. Is it war or peace?"

Gaza officials say the war has killed 1,876 Palestinians, most of them civilians. Hamas said on Thursday it had executed an unspecified number of Palestinians as Israeli spies.

Israel says 64 of its soldiers and three civilians have died in the fighting that began on July 8, after a surge in Palestinian rocket salvoes into Israel.

It expanded its air and naval bombardment of the Gaza Strip into a ground offensive on July 17, and pulled its infantry and armor out of the enclave on Tuesday after saying it had destroyed more than 30 infiltration tunnels dug by militants.

ALIENATE EGYPT

Hamas's refusal to extend the ceasefire could further alienate Egypt, whose government has been hostile to the group and which ultimately controls Gaza's main gateway to the world, the Rafah border crossing.
