Is it true that homeless cannot use a blanket to keep warm?

I really think the hope is that if they make it difficult enough for these folks they leave town... move on down the road and be someone else's problem. Thing is, there are inherent problems with that expectation, beginning with transportation and ending with being unwelcome down the road, as well.

During the city council meeting last night, several speakers, including a council member, suggested the city purchase or lease an abandoned warehouse or - even better - an abandoned school for use as a shelter. This could be accomplished by a private entity as well.

I'm not sure another shelter is the answer. I elaborated on the "News" thread about the deputies-homeless-DOT property.
