Obama slammed by black Chicago residents: ‘Worst president ever’

Black residents of Chicago’s South Side, who recently rallied to decry a spate of violence in the city, ripped President Obama for ignoring their plight while pushing for funding for illegal immigrants at their expense.

The protest against the rash of shootings was staged Friday at the Chicago Police Department headquarters building. Over the Fourth of July weekend, nine people were killed and more than 60 injured, authorities said.

Demonstrators blasted the Obama administration’s inaction in Chicago while federal funds are earmarked to help the roughly 50,000 illegal immigrants who have crossed into America since October

Mr. President, we’re asking for you,” one woman said. “You’re spending billions of dollars in Texas, but we’ve a problem here in Chicago. We will not stand by this here, and keep letting this senseless killing and shooting happen in our community.”

Another resident said, “Today, if you look at the time that we were brought here as slaves 400 years ago, we got the same results today.”

One man called for Mr. Obama to step down if he continued to shun the city’s problems.

“For the president to set aside all of these funds for immigrants and [have] forsaken the African-American community, I think that’s a disgrace,” the man told the blog Rebel Pundit. “He will go down as the worst president ever elected. Bill Clinton was the African-American president

These people in Chicago are mad.

The people in Chicago are the problem... not Obama. Obama ain't shooting those people. They need to help themselves.

AGREE!!!!.... This problem will never get better as long as those that live under these conditions make to choice to tolerate the thugs running their neighborhoods.... Further, find it very offensive that black residents were used in order to somehow give this and other issues credibility...there should be no one not wanting to help address this problem...

Another area of concern with this report...there were some that made the comment that [name] cowh was 'spending money on the border but not here in Chicago'...The concern is that this person (and others) are looking to the Federal Government again to solve their problems----with money. Where's the mayor?...Police Superintendent?...The Governor?...The Alderman? or ANY local officials?

In other posts have pointed out that local media is calling out the mayor and police superintendent not only for their inactions as well as cooking the books in order to attempt to show progress is/has been happening... Once again as Eric pointed out the residents are voting for these politicians that are not fulfilling their obligations to the voters/citizens of Chicago...and they are MOST certainly are the problem!

FINALLY........and some of you doubted that I'm capable of defending the cowh on any level...

I wonder if the police there have the same problem they do here - witnesses who refuse to cooperate to help solve a crime?

Certainly they do... and to gain that or any cooperation the residents are going to need proof that the police and local elected officials are serious about addressing the situation.... In one of the articles it pointed out that Mayor Emanuel scheduled an escorted drive through some of the areas with a photo op stop for 15 minutes!...IF the mayor doesn't even want to be there what message does that send to the residents?...Well other than that Rahm is really not concerned...

But they are angry he wants to spend so much money on illegal immigrants and help illegals become citizens when their job outlook is very dismal.

The influx of illegals will hurt the poorer communities more than anyone else.

I admit though. It does warm my heart to see the lefts used and abused base angry with them LOL

I doubt most of those people who are shooting at each other up in Chicago will much want to pick fruit in California or tobacco in North Carolina.   Immigrants  aren't to blame for the shootings either. Here's an original idea- why not blame the people who are pulling the triggers and not blame it on any race or religion or immigration status?

Some of them are scared.
As long as these felons have access to their buddies on the outside of jail, they can threaten witnesses who might testify against them. One of the problems is the easy way we treat people who are in our correctional institutions, and the way judges allow bail for people that don't deserve it in any way.  

There would be no felons calling their "homies" on phones or watching cable tv or wearing boxing gloves, playing basketball or  getting conjugal visits in jails if it were up to this otherwise "liberal."

I don't think prisoners should be tortured but they should not be entertained either.

I think Sheriff Joe goes too far but most prisons don't go far enough to make jail an unpleasant place to be.

Sheriff Joe has been investigated throughly by this justice department for several alleged civil rights violations by this AG/administration yet and he still serves his county...no trials.... no convictions...

Liberal....Conservative it doesn't matter...pull the 'entertainment' and watch the lawyers come out of the woodwork!... The Federal System is the worst in this sending the fortunate/affluent to Club Fed institutions... Agree that jail should be an unpleasant experience...

What a country! He gets sued for enforcing state and local laws by the most inept DOJ in history. Meanwhile back at the chicken ranch, the AG was found in contempt of Congress for failure to release documents pertaining to - the death of an American citizen and missing guns.

Politics by lawsuit. The DOJ gets embarrassed by some back country sheriff and has to resort to civil action!

Believe the NAACP has brought lawsuite(s)...Yes and he's invited the AG... NAACP and others to come to Arizona and conduct their investigation(s)...If simply being sued means guilt then there would never be enough prison space available... With the entire weight of the DOJ and this administration they can't charge and convict one sheriff?...How much has been spent (money and manpower hours) on these allegations and lawsuites?....and yet Joe was elected to his sixth or seventh term?...Weak lawsuites, no evidence, or an amateur DOJ headed up by Holder?...

You've got a DOJ going after not just this sheriff but others for enforcing the laws and yet the same AG/DOJ has instructed Fed Law Enforcement Agencies to IGNORE the laws when it comes to illegal immigration...sanctuary cities....Now the same Fed Government is dumping illegal immigrants into states...and this is considered a good move?...

They proclaim that the Federal Government is picking up the tab...but does it matter if it's the Feds and/or states that reaching into taxpayers pockets to pay for an illegal activity?... As one representative has already pointed out if the cowh gets the money he's requested for this fiasco...it would be cheaper to take all the illegals and give them a first class ticket back to their native countries....

Agree with posters like 'jake' and it's time for a leader to take charge of this situation and tell those countries the bank (foreign aid) is now closed and those sent are going to be returned...No matter what Dirty Harry Reid and others say our borders are not secure...

Why do you keep trying to justify one wrong by bringing up another subject? You seem to be saying it's ok to violate someone's rights because this person did that. I don't get that logic? This is two separate situations.

The judges need to start locking them up and stop the slap on the hand and probation sentences..
