Woman found shot to death on L Street in Pensacola

I sold my house of "K" street a couple of years ago. I t was maybe 3 blocks from where this happened. A good friend of mine lives about 4 houses from the murder. Glad I was able to sell but it still hurts to see what my birth place has become. My friend is not so lucky, he cant move. Hope I dont read about him one day. . I am sure the new YMCA will fix everything. Damn sure glad my children have moved.........

I heard on the scanner last night...they were looking for the owner of the car in Midway./Gulf Breeze. Gave a warning the car was occupied by 5 black males who were armed.

If the gun was registered....I bet it would not have happened.

This really strikes home to me because it was so close to where I was raised. The west side of the city is under going a transition. More and more house are being torn down and slowly the people are being displaced. In the next 10 years you will see a major rebuilding on the west side. If you know the right folks and what to look for, I think a person could make some major money. Very Very similar to what happened at Seville , Aragon courts and where the City hall and all the Government buildings are. Notice that all the people who lived for years around the Shoot plant are all gone. A st east to Palafox is almost devoid of poor folks. Just a few left. The trend will continue all the way to Pace Blvd. Just a matter of time.

I read a while back where the City wanted to trade their garbage franchise for the "old stinky" property. I guess it was the other way around, the ECUA wanting that garbage franchise... and, if the property passed environmental muster, the City would own it.

But the thought of the City of Pensacola owning that property makes me shudder to think of what useless, non-public, good-ol'-boy enriching intention that the City has for that property. I'll bet you that a secret deal has already been bargained and the public has already been screwed... without a kiss.

You may see the city's fire department consolidated with escambia county in the next five years also. The only obstacle was the fire pension plan and it looks like they are going to shut it down.

Maybe a casino or something upscale (homes/offices)... surely nothing that the general public would be proud of... How about a rest home for the monied "upper crust" folks... we could call it I'll be damned.
