Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) joined a rising chorus demanding that Donald Trump speak out directly against the anti-Muslim bigotry and white supremacy that fueled the killing of 50 people during Friday’s gun massacre at two mosques in New Zealand.
On Sunday morning’s edition of CNN’s State of the Union, host Jake Tapper noted that Trump had “condemned” the attack in New Zealand, but “he has not yet given a direct message to muslims in the United States or around the world.”
