PostSubject: Terrible-Twos Trump Disinvites Philadelphia Eagles To White House Celebration   Tue Jun 05, 2018 7:52 am

Donald Trump is in his second year as president and as any parent knows, the second year doesn’t come without some tantrums.

The latest reason for Trump’s floor-wailing? Some of the players on the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles’ team support players who choose to kneel during the national anthem in protest.

The President said in a statement on Monday,

“The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country.”

This comes off as terribly petty in light of the NFL’s decision last month to issue punishment to any player’s team if they don’t stand in uniform for the national anthem. A decision Trump couldn’t help but gloat about on Fox News:

“I don’t think people should be staying in locker rooms, but still, I think it’s good. You have to stand proudly for the national anthem, or you shouldn’t be playing.”

“Maybe you shouldn’t be in the country. You have to stand proudly for the national anthem and the NFL owners did the right thing.”

But when have we expected more from Donald J. Trump?
