Christine and I just got back from a ride. We didn't go very far here in the Perdido Bay Country Club. It is a shame that Sorrento Road doesn't have sidewalks or bicycle lanes. It is DAMN scary just riding the quarter mile from the Country Club entrance to Winn Dixie. We can access miles of bike lanes and sidewalks from there.

I think I need to ride my recumbent exercycle more to build up some stamina.

I know what you mean.. I might have to start riding it around Bay Meadows a few times a week.. I've just been busy with firewood and getting my veggie garden going..

What are you planting, Jake? We just got a large tomato plant, two red pepper plants (like sweet bell peppers) and two jalapeno plants. We have a fairly large bed of herbs that are inside a structure that kept them from freezing.

I have 4 tomatoes, 4 bell peppers, 2 red 1 yellow, and 1 green, onions, lettuce, beets, carrots, asperagus, and cucumbers already planted and growing.. I have cucumbers and 3 colors of bell peppers growing from seeds still inside the house.. I'll plant them outside once they get a little bigger.. I still have some parsley from last yr growing outside.. The tomatoes all have a lot of blossoms and 1 has quarter - half dollar size tomatoes growing on it.. I just planted a grape tomato last week..

I'll be ready just about any time you want to take a ride.. The Sunset Ave bridge is gone, so the only way in is the back entrance.. There is a new light on Gulf Beach Hwy put there for the traffic going in and out..

That's not the back way for me, Jake. Having been an inspector in the county, I kinda know my way around. I used to ride back in Beach Haven, thru Navy Point, across Navy, across the Country Club and into Lakewood. Before the Navy Point trail was done, that old route was the cat's meow
