| I don't understand. Something had to be done wrong with procedures (or perhaps an equipment malfunction) in order for the nurse to be infected. | |

The level of training and containment in a hospital is extensive. However, it is not a CDC contagion like atmosphere. If it was, nosocomial diseases would be nil. Remember, if you can catch stuff from me, I can catch stuff from you. Did she breath in the air in his room where he was coughing? You know like they said you couldn't get it that way but you CAN. The fault here lies absolutely with this administration continuing to allow people from these highly infected areas into this country when those countries land borders are CLOSED. Facts are, its here and it wont go away. And this sorry asses CDC head is just another asshole like Obama who is more worried about the economy of Africa over the lives of American citizens. |

| Is it written somewhere that communication can be passed via airborne transmission?
Or, is it your opinion that airborne transmission is viable?
If a patient coughed into an unprotected face (mouth or eyes), I suspect it is possible. Just breathing in the air? I dunno. | |

Ive looked at the molecular weight of it, 115kda, the size of it, 80nm in diameter and the size of aveolar 200micrometers. http://viralzone.expasy.org/viralzone/all_by_species/207.html I looked at Marburg virus, ebolas brother. but why would you think this virus couldn't be transmitted via air? H1N1 virus is 80-120nm in size. http://viralzone.expasy.org/complete_by_species/131.html read second to last paragraph in this> http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fact-or-fiction-the-ebola-virus-will-go-airborne/ and some of the experts comments about it> http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-10-07/cdc-forced-admit-ebola-might-be-spread-through-coughing-and-sneezing It could have, and I am most certain they are lying so people don't panic. |

I was thinking about what you said about the droplets and it reminded me of how we wear surgical mask and that those mask have a large pore size and do not fit securely to the face as a respirator would. I wonder if that is what they said was ok to wear? |

| Well suppose it gets out of hand because it spreads in spite of good protocol and all the nurses Doctors and hospital workers refuse to show up...so then they send out the military and they refuse to show up and then what ? So ebola people do show up at the hospitals and are dying in the corridors spreading the virus throughout the facility. Oh it goes without saying the police won't show up.... | |

I think the CDC and GOV are doing us all a great dis-service by down playing the contagiousness of this virus. It may make people lax and/or not want to look foolish to wear extensive protection. Yes, this is human nature to not want to show up wearing a respirator when the CDC is saying ah your surgical mask is fine. I have lost a lot of respect for the CDC, well I lost a lot of respect for them when they lost that virus not long ago too, but this is complete and utter incompetence. |

| I really don't think we have much to worry about unless it starts running through south america and mexico... but that could certainly happen. If it does I don't think we will be able to contain it... unless necessity can still mother innovation. | |
