Algal bloom in Lake Erie, Gulf's Dead Zone, Red tide in Florida

We have been discussing all these things lately and they all point to one thing.

We are poisoning our waters with run-off and with sewage treatment plant effluent. From septic tanks too.

As we continue to live our irresponsible lifestyles, it is only going to get worse.

Nobody wants to pay for extra sewage plant treatment and few places discharge their sewage plant effluent onto green spaces like Gulf Breeze does on Tiger Point's golf course. Land is at a premium and the NIMBY attitude prevails when proposals happen to apply effluent to lands.

People do not pick up doggy poo and continue to fertilize their lawns right up to the waters' edge and nobody seems to give a shit.

Future generations will not have clean, unpolluted waters in which to swim.
