Harry Reid says BRING BACK THE PORK Empty
PostSubject: Harry Reid says BRING BACK THE PORK   Harry Reid says BRING BACK THE PORK EmptyWed May 07, 2014 8:15 am

As if unchecked corporate election donations (read bribes) isn't enough now our illustrious congressional porkers want to bring back ear marks "because they serve to get bills passed". I thought bills were passed because they were necessary to achieve important goals. It appears there are only a few porkers who want to continue the earmark ban. Voters need to contact their representatives and demand that the ban on earmarks continues.

Harry Reid says BRING BACK THE PORK Taxes

Reid said he's been a fan of earmarks since the first day he got here....what more can be said or added?....Bet his bank account(s) can fully support that statement...This isn't just opinions/opposition...these are elected lawmakers that continue to be so arrogant and could care less about spending of taxpayer money...Dirty Harry's coming to the end of his political road so guess he's gonna grab whatever he can for himself and his family on the way out....Already sending e-mails to Senate and House although expect not much of a reply...

Poor Harry Reid, blaming climate change on the Koch Brothers. I guess he forgot about the donation a Koch connected lobbyist gave him.

Harry Reid is a genius, said nobody ever.

Had the donation been larger and/or under the table...Dirty Harry wouldn't now be blaming the Koch Brothers...And this is the democrat that is one of the top leaders of that party along with the cowh, and Pelosi...what a threesome

Read where a BIPARTISAN (YEA) Congressional group is attempting to require lawmakers and staff to use coach when flying instead of their preferred first class. You know, like most businesses require their employees to do because it SAVES money.

"A bipartisan group of Congressmen introduced a bill Monday that would stop costly first-class flights by lawmakers at taxpayer expense and force representatives and senators to fly coach.

“As representatives of the American people, we in Congress have a responsibility to wisely use the people’s money,” said Rep. Walter Jones, a North Carolina Republican, in a statement. “Members of the House and Senate should never secure their own luxury travel at taxpayer expense, but they especially should not do so when our nation is buried $17 trillion deep in debt.”

H.R. 4632, known as the “If Our Military Has to Fly Coach Then So Should Congress Act,” sets the same limits on congressional trips that govern most other government travel: Members and their staff cannot use taxpayer funds to buy first-class tickets unless they need to accommodate a disability or other medical need.

“Members of Congress are public servants and should not receive special privileges at the expense of hard working taxpayers,” said Rep. Raul Ruiz, a California Democrat. “It’s wrong that members of Congress can purchase luxury airfare with taxpayer money when many families in my district and across the county are struggling to make ends meet.”

Arizona Republican Paul Gosar and Georgia Democrat John Barrow also co-sponsored the bill.
An investigation last year by The Washington Times found that Congress spends between $6 million and $10 million each year on overseas trips alone, which doesn’t include the transportation lawmakers take between Washington and their home districts. Nor does it include privately funded gift trips members often receive from advocacy groups."

Geez....Rep Moran (D-VA) already explained this....Congressional members are underpaid...Here is a bill sponsored by a republican and democrat would like to see the names published of those that oppose...This makes sense and is true...if our military has to fly coach then so should congress...

That's why it was laughable when Rep Moran (D-VA) said that Congress was underpaid....Their salaries don't even include the perks they receive...Would like to see all those perks exposed and eliminate as many as possible...
