It is nice and cool here in Hoover, outside Birmingham

Was probably in the 40's last night... pretty chilly. We have the windows open and the whole-house attic fan is running, drawing in a nice cool breeze.

It's absolutely perfect here in Pensacola now- what a great Sunday afternoon. Received a visit from some relatives from out west and had a family get-together on the patio of one of my cousins here in Pensacola. Lots of good chicken and dumplings, turnip greens, corn, cole slaw and huge sweet rolls as dessert. The weather could not have been more perfect.

I hope it stays this way for a long time. No more 90 degree days are allowed after the Fair leaves town.

We were in P'cola yesterday and used the chimnea last night. It was perfect.

When we got back to Hoover an hour or so ago, we went around closing windows... brrrr.

I love October and November in Pensacola! The weather is perfect for gardening and greenhouse tasks.

Speaking of gardens, and since this is the general topic area, I'm going to try to post a picture we took of our night blooming coleus two nights ago.
