We had almost 7" of rain here in Hoover.

I used the rain figure for a little town called Helena that is a few miles from here.

My yard is basically solid rock out back and solid rock with about 3" of soil on top in the front.  When it rains like this, that soil is squishy and the grass is like a carpet lying on muck... footsteps sink the surface of the ground down and it rises a little beside the footprint, lol.
