| I would like to go to Italy and ride my bicycle on parts on the Giro Italia route. Not far, just to see some of the old historic stuff. But it is a pipe dream the mountains would kick my ass in about 2 miles...maybe much less...

| I want to travel all over the US in a leisurely manner by car, camping some of the time. We bought a tent that attaches to the back of Christine's Odyssey... sleep in the car (4' x 8' flat area in it) and put the gear in the tent while we sleep.
See as many musical acts as we can.
Visit Europe. Maybe even Australia.
Enjoying many more pleasant evenings with good friends is high on the list.

Well you're tougher than me, T. That is a long rough road and I'm pretty sure my ass would die and fall off from lack of blood flow before I got into Canada. Plus I would be askeered of hitting a moose or bison... :-o I've seen a lot of the lower 48... now I want to see Alaska. It's a huge state and I've only seen a little speck of it.

lol, that sounds like a solid plan. If it was me, I'd probably make it to Cantonment then sell it and drive a big comfy dirt road cadillac... like a Suburban, lol.

| Well if I did do it I would have done something pretty darn cool. Maybe the last cool thing I got left in me...I'd have to buy me an old pistol I wouldn't mind selling before I hit Canada....then buy another in Alaska..... | |

| Yeah or ship your pistol to an FFL before the border or something. I just bought a new Ruger Single Six Convertible to carry in my pickup in the winter. It's pretty sweet. Semi-automatics are no good in the extreme cold because firing pins are unpredictable... they sometimes go mushy and nothing happens when you pull the trigger. I actually have two revolvers in my pickup right now... a Dan Wesson .357 Magnum and my new Ruger convertible. I can't decide which one I want to leave in there, lol. | |

| Ricey, I agree on the need for a revolver. I sold my Tec-9 because it got such bad press. "Jamz-a-lot" to some. Although mine never jammed, there is always a first-time, and I wouldn't want that "first-time" to happen when I needed lethal force. It's not a good time to go "oopsie", y'know?
Teo, you could always get or borrow a small trailer like many folks do, and trailer a bike to Alaska, then bike all over Alaska. It makes more sense than beating yourself to death and being worn out by the time you get to Alaska. The most I ever rode was from Bristol to Gattlinburg, back roads, in the rain and at night. One day, we rode through parts of 4 states on a Sunday ride but I don't think it was even 200 miles. It was nice, but all I had was a vintage crotch rocket... 3-cylinder, 2-cycle... and it took more out of me than if I had driven a car. Of course, dragging pegs doing 75 on 35 or 25 mph hairpin switchbacks was definitively more exhilarating. I'm not that stupid anymore... hopefully.

| I got the trailer and a truck that can haul it....so that might be good...I could put a truck camper on it and save on hotel rooms....

| I mentioned music acts. Bob, Christine and I saw this group in Atlanta last Saturday night. A bunch of young white guys that play pretty good soul music.
They're outta Birmingham, but travel extensively.

| Being a lifelong skyscraper buff, night before last I just accomplished the last thing on my bucket list. It was to see this view from the restaurant atop the 2nd tallest hotel in the western hemisphere while dining on a $150 meal (with tip). The only way I can justify (actually rationalize) it is, starting next month my medicare insurance will go from $235/mo to $35/mo. So the first month's savings bought the dinner and the view. lol p.s. $42 of that $150 was for cocktails. Two double whiskeys at $21 a pop (also a new record for me). lol | |

| Bob is so tight that he squeaks. He's the kind that will eat leftover food on diner's finished plates... people he doesn't even know. Heck, at a Christmas party we attended last weekend, his whisky was so cheap that nobody drank it but him.
Seeing him spend a C-note or two on a dinner and a show was a once-in-a-lifetime event, lol.
