The Agenda Project is a progressive non-profit political organization founded in 2010 by author Erica Payne. This ad, featuring clips of Mitch McConnell, Pat Roberts, and many other Republicans implies that austerity cuts to the CDC and NIH are responsible for the 2014 Ebola outbreak. This ad with run in Kentucky and other states leading up to the election.

The glaring truth is these government organization live for "outbreaks" they love them because it gets their funding renewed and increased, and the worse the better. It's like the FBI fomenting terrorist attacks using low IQ Muslims to secure more money and power...Follow the money...The government actually shut down and blocked some private Katrina aid until the problems became huge so they could come in as the only saviors and get their next year budgets upped and renewed.

Well if the government will run drugs for black ops money which is common knowledge I don't think I have to prove much ...but it matters little to me what others believe...just don't be surprised when it finally dawns on you what all this is about...it's on the net ..you can google can't you ?

Oh okay here's just a quick wiki of some of the BS designed to slow and increase the suffering in Katrina...

However, many police, fire and EMS organizations from outside the affected areas were reportedly hindered or otherwise slowed in their efforts to send help and assistance to the area. FEMA sent hundreds of firefighters who had volunteered to help rescue victims to Atlanta for 2 days of training classes on topics including sexual harassment and the history of FEMA.[

The plan was to detonate a large car bomb, but when Mohamed attempted to detonate the vehicle he was arrested. The vehicle never contained any explosives. It was a plant by the FBI.

Did officials trick and entrap Mohamudto win national security points?

The alleged plotter is a teenager. The bomb he planted, a fake, and the FBI allegedly manipulated him into committing that crime.

“Entrapment is not legal. Entrapment is getting someone to do something that they wouldn’t normally do,” said retired FBI agent James Wedick.

Mohamud’s emails were tracked by authorities while they waited for the right time to get him to act against US national security.

“The FBI was with him every step of the way. He started since he was 15 yrs old,” reported Fox News Channel.

Four years, an unknown amount of money, and hours of effort from the FBI later – the sting operation came to a close.

The language used against Mohamud in FBI records is all too familiar to the sensitive American ear, using phrases like “weapon of mass destruction” in the official affidavit.

And even though the device was a fake, fear spread quickly.

“The threat was very, very real,” said one media report.

Media images were quick to portray what could have and would have happened had the bomb been real.

Becoming, yet again, not a watchdog but an echoing voice of US authorities.

“A lot of this terrorism stuff, it is kind of embarrassing for most of the media, the way the FBI’s official word on whatever is taken as the truth,” said Joe Weisenthal, deputy editor-in-chief of The Business Insider.

The obvious truth to some is what is not addressed by the media at all.

oh that's right. You think the government deliberately created the virus and infected us. I just think the gov is negligent in protecting us from it.

Back to the topic. Do you think its the GOP's fault? And that this ad has any truth to it? Because I don't see how any cuts stopped them from bringing infected people back to the country or how any cuts tied their hands to stop travel to countries that are under QUARINTINE.

I remember reading in a local forum that Louisianna prevented Federal assistance from entering the State... for a day or two, at least.  If that's true, it wasn't just the Feds dragging their feet after Katrina.

I don't doubt that disasters cause relief agencies to obtain extra funding.  Perhaps this is the way it should be.  For instance, it doesn't make sense to fund FEMA at high levels in the absence of need.

There was plenty of blame to go around....Mayfield with the National Weather service started on Friday before Katrina urging Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin to warn residents to begin preparing to evacuate.....it was ignored.

Blanco delayed authorization for FEMA to enter the state....others contend FEMA should not have waited for official notification. A cluster F***. Nagin was well aware so very many NewOrleans residents relied on public transportation. With limited finacial resources and no transportation......many residents succumbed...trapped and left to die.

The call for a premature evacuation would damage tourism according to Nagin.

Both party's play the blame game so it's no surprise. It's sad that these political morons play on serious issues for some sort of political advantage though. They are beneath contempt.

well the facts are cuts have nothing to do with this outbreak. It has everything to do with access to our country.

Why in the world would a country allow access to its citizens from a country that is effectively in QUARINTINE mode of its own borders? They cant walk across the border, but they can catch a flight to the USA.

as far as Katrina, if I recall correctly the state delayed response. And anyone who wishes that the federal GOV can just over ride a states wishes needs to think their standing on the constitution an the power of the feds.

The governor closed the borders after Katrina, Even the medical people from the Naval Hospital were NOT allowed to enter LA.... Trucks full of food and ice sat at the borders for a few days until the food spoiled and the ice melted, 100% due to the governor.

What you said about the constitution and the states having all that power to stop the feds is bunk. Perry in Texas was going to shutdown the TSA at Texas airports due to popular out cry. The Feds threatened to shoot down any planes coming out of Texas so Perry relented....y'all got a short memory....

Listened to a report that claimed that funding for the CDC has INCREASED over the past five years... Can't understand what the confusion is all about....this is the democrat playbook...Need more money...and it's either the fault of republicans in general or specifically George W Bush....

It's the current administrations fault for allowing it to enter the country...... There is NO reason the airports and other entry points have to remain open without any quarantine other than the stinking politicians have something to lose..

Well they got to first create a crisis in order to take advantage of it.  I am looking forward to the day when some politician parades out doctors and professors to tell us how scared all us Americans should be and we tell them to kiss our ass and tar and feather them for causing the crisis.

The left is desperate to use this non sense. but some will believe it.

I had this conversation at work today with a doctor about ebola. And we both agreed that if a countries land borders are sealed in quarantine, no one should be able to fly out either. its stupid.

Please note that Liberia has its borders closed.
