$10.00 minimum wage could cost 1 million jobs to be eliminated before 2016...Willing to pay entry level jobs $10 an hour and also willing to allow more and more military members to go on food stamps to survive....Pay the folks that our freedoms depend on...sickening that the military which has been used/overused the last ten years has to be on government assistance...

While there may be some job losses due to this what is the net effect when you tack on the cost of ACA at the same time? People need to make a reasonable wage but the real result is going to be in price increases for products and services.

It's hard enough finding an open check out line without 2-3 people in front of you.. WHY have 30 registers with 4 open?? It's NOT just Wal Mart, but all stores.. The worst is the Navy exchange with 20 people lined up waiting to get to a register.. At least they have a lot of registers open but they also have a lot of customers from 100 miles away doing monthly shopping with full carts.

These are the figures I have seen.

900,000 people raised out of the poverty level.

500,000 people losing their jobs.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-18/cbo-says-minimum-wage-rise-may-ease-poverty-cost-jobs.html

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/18/us-usa-wage-cbo-idUSBREA1H1VE20140218

One million or five hundred thousand jobs lost... it is still significant if you are one of those losing their job.  But then again, good for those earning more. Even though more folks will be pulled out of the theoretical poverty line, it doesn't seem fair to cause half a million folks to lose their jobs.

And those same half million who were tax paying wage earners will be on taxpayer unemployment and then nothing if trends continue. This another government interference in business that primarily impacts small business owners. Again.

When there will be price increases they are passed on to the consumers...When jobs are cut it has a rippple effect...businesses/small businesses will cut...hire part time workers...and certainly not expand add onto this [name] cowh healthcare and prices are going to rise and as pointed out here services will be cut at these stores/businesses...there may be a reason Wal Mart expanded their self check out lines...Finally...raise the minimum wage...but when do the middle class workforce going to get a raise...how about a raise for our military members...This administration seems focused on saying they are raising people out of poverty...but what about the shrinking middle class being lowered...
