| With all the hyped news about shootings by police, it is about time someone posted news about police being shot.
This small-town police chief stopped a guy for a warrant related to graffiti, of all things... graffiti!

| A 24 year-old man, Joshua Manuel Lopez, has been arrested and charged with capital murder of a police officer. If found guilty, Lopez could face capital punishment under Texan state law. | |

| US statistics are not available but in England alone... in 2008 police admit to causing 3,357 car accidents.
addendum:
Statistics compiled by the FBI further went on to show that at least one police officer dies every 11 weeks in America while involved in a police chase. What's even sadder, however, is that police officers and those running from them aren't the only victims. It turns out that over 40 percent of the people who are killed or harmed during police pursuits are just innocent third parties that were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It turns out that over 40 percent of the people who are killed or harmed during police pursuits are just innocent third parties that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Which is why so many jurisdictions across the US have done away with or limited pursuits unless under extreme circumstances in which lives are/or may be in imminent danger...Now there are exceptions and it's amazing that in California for example there are chases on a regular basis... Also, in most jurisdictions in the case of chases the offender is responsible for any innocents being injured/killed in a chase much like an armed robber....carjacker etc., that gets in a shootout with police and innocent bystanders are injured/killed....

| How many innocent lives would be lost if the police never stopped someone for traffic violations or other crimes they respond to?? IF people follow the laws, the police wouldn't bother them.. | |

| I've never known any cop that didn't shoot for a good reason.. Of course there are mistakes like wrong house or things, but he/she still had a reason to pull the trigger... | |

| And then there are folks like this... Century Man Threatens To Kill Deputies, Every Cop That He Sees | A Century man is behind bars on a weapons charge after allegedly threatening to kill multiple Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies and every cop that he saw.
Aaron Tyrone Madison, Jr., 31, was charged with possession of a concealed weapon by a convicted felon and criminal mischief with property damage.
Madison told the deputy that he was upset because “the police were shooting [expletive] in the street,” according to the arrest report. The deputy reported that Madison continued to be aggressive, verbally abusive and continued to threaten to kill him while holding an aggressive stance with his fists balled up. Madison was detained after he pleaded with the deputy to shoot him.
A loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic Ruger pistol was found concealed under the driver’s seat of the four wheeler, with one bullet in the chamber and the weapon ready to fire, according to the report. Madison claimed ownership of the gun, saying “he wanted to shoot some police”. |

| Hopefully a jury finds him guilty and a judge locks him up instead of awarding probation and a fine.. BTW, a 22 is the weapon of choice for most mafia killings | |

This kind of wacko is the reason why there are no such things as 'routine' traffic stops and calls for service....Also shows that laws designed to keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons are useless other than after the fact it can lead to another charge against someone...This guy appears to have many problems...
