Wow. Just when you think you've heard it all, right? I am the youngest, but I know there are many eldest in the same boat as me... I left home before I turned 18 and my parents have not given me anything since then. Actually, my dad is a good example of how wrong this is. He is the eldest and worked since he was 10 to support his parents and younger siblings. While my dad finished school, my ex-husband (an only child) had to quit school when he was 14 (he went on to earn two engineering degrees after we were married) to work full time to support his parents. We sent them fairly large sums of money on a regular basis when we were married, and I'm sure he still does. As I'm typing this, I keep thinking of more examples...
