From the article:

"There are always a few streets in town that you want to avoid late at night, and it turns out that the Internet is the same way. According to a new study, just a few places in the world account for a huge amount of spam and malicious attacks. These are the Internet's 'bad neighborhoods.' "

I would have thought that Nigeria would have been highlighted from all the "419 Scams" as they are commonly known.

(According to Wikipedia, The number "419" refers to the article of the Nigerian Criminal Code dealing with fraud.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_scam

Every once and a while our very own Bob will play along with a scammer and waste a bunch of their time... with the scammer believing they are going to get a payout... sending dozens of e-mails between 'em. pirat

I just usually send them a few expletives.

It can get entertaining sometimes... The different stories they create.

I get a kick out of the idiots that say they are PayPal, or my bank, or lender... And invite me to log in using their link to clear up an accounting issue, or whatever. Hold your breath on that one, dufus.

Last spring I got one about having my van covered with graphics and they would pay me $1,000/week for 3 months. It was easy to figure out because of the poor English and spelling.. I played along for a few days and they asked for $1,500 to cover the cost of the graphics, but it will be returned in the first payment... The ECSO confirmed it was a scam that they have been seeing for a few weeks. He said some of the people sent them a money order for the $1,500..
