I actually read this book last year but I read an excerpt from it recently. I was a tin can sailor when I was in the Navy so this kind of hits home. We, as destroyermen knew we were sacrificial and this book shows the bravery and dedication of a group of destroyermen and their sacrifice to save a group of jeep carriers against overwhelming odds in WWII.

I'll check this one out when I can, JD. My husband was a Navy man.

My dad was a gunnersmate on tin cans during WW II. He went from the south Pacific to the north Atlantic for convoy duty.
