The poor little baby.....oh, geez.

A dear friend of mine found a baby pit pull about three months old at a local car wash several months ago. Like Sonar, someone had lopped her ears off, which resulted in a bilateral ear infection. She also had a dislocated hip.

My friend took the pup to Dr. Gray's animal hospital on Nine Mile Road. As I understand it, this pup has now become the mascot for the hospital as well as Dr. Gray's personal dog.

Life does have happy endings.

My daughter texted the other day said she had to " muder" a nine year old lab named chloe. She was upset and had an adult beverage very unlike her.

The " owners" decided to put her down because she has arthritis very treatable and chloe could have lived a much longer life. In Co. Where she is a veterinary technician dogs are considered " property" so the humane society tried to convince the owners to not euthanize they did anyway.

Because chloe did not need to be injected my daughter considered it murdering the dog.

I am glad we have people like my daughter it is a great job but some days you go home and need a drink,,,,,,,

PB, you would really like most of the stories from the Marley's Mutts website where Sonar's story came from. Nearly all of them begin as very heartbreaking stories and have happy endings, like Sonar's story.

http://marleysmutts.com/

How Marley's Mutts came to be is a good story in and of itself. Zach (the head of the non-profit) at the age of 28 was dying of alcohol induced liver failure, and essentially spending time with the dogs saved his life and he was finally able to stay clean and get a new liver.

whowherewhy, that is a really sad story and I'm sorry your daughter had to go through that. I am also glad we have good people like your daughter who work with our buddies. It sounds like the "owners" just didn't want to go through the "hassle" or expense of dealing with poor Chloe's needs. Shame on them. People like that shouldn't be allowed to have animals in their homes.
