Way to go VA.  It gives me a warm-fuzzy feeling that our Veterans are treated with respect.

Scott Davis, a program specialist at the VA enrollment center in Atlanta, says 34,000 veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan lost their eligibility for healthcare after the VA sat on their applications until they expired. The applications were designated as pending because they lacked income information. However, combat veterans are not required to verify their income when applying for VA benefits. For more information, watch the video from Fox News,, and also at this article.. Mr. Davis' testimony before the House Committee on Veterans Affairs on July 8, 2014 is available on the House Committee on Veterans Affairs website. Mr. Davis filed for whistleblower protection in January, 2014.

It's sickening!...And now in a campaign ALL candidates do what ALL candidates do and promise to take care of our Veterans and blast the current system...Then when elected and the campaign frenzy is over....the mistreatment of veterans goes right back to its' horrific levels and seems like new lows are being reached on a regular basis...
We'll allow entitlements to grow to those that take advantage of the system and yet deny promises made to the men and women that have defended/served this nation....This is another example of BOTH major political parties playing politics with this issue and veterans have...are...and will continue to pay the price for incompetence of politicians....And some wonder why there is an alarming rate of suicides among our vets....

The VA is so mismanaged it's incredible. The employees that I've dealt with are ignorant lazy slugs - I went ONE time about a foot problem that developed when I was in the Mideast. After waiting for five hours (the usual run around - go wait at that counter, now go over there) I finally saw the "Doctor" for all of 15 seconds, he looked at the chart and said I had to go to Biloxi to be seen then turned around and left. Never went back.

One example of waste is the yet to be finished Denver VA hospital, it was supposed to cost about $600 million and is now projected to cost $1.7 BILLION. Because of mismanagement by the VA.
