| Azucar Bakery in Denver Colorado....
Customer ordered two cakes: One cake in the shape of a Bible with printing: "God Hates Homosexuality"
The second depicted a gay couple with a red line through the image
The bakery refused to comply with the order---and would not decorate the cakes with the image/writing that was requested
Colorado Court ruled that the bakery did not discriminate by refusing the customer's request....

| It's a private business that in the past could make any poor decision it chose.
The freedom to fail that built this country and society is quickly dissolving.

The freedom to fail that built this country and society is quickly dissolving. And that is the bigger problem in all this!.... If it's not discrimination in this this case then why not the opposite?.. What has happened to the rights of business owners to make 'poor decisions' and possibly pay the consequences [lack of revenue] for those decisions....Believe that the courts have far more important issues to be dealing with than these types of complaints...

That's how the game is played. Perfect example....Kentucky player on National TV when asked about the winning teams MVP. His response in a muffled voice with the mike on....F**k that N****r. It was mentioned as inappropriate by an upset kid (20 years old) no big deal....he apologized. It is still a racial slur and the scenerio changes dramatically depending on who says it.

| Who said it was "inappropriate by an upset kid" and thus no big deal? I'd be curious.
Mel Gibson apologized for his remarks that were said when he was drunk too but his acting career is pretty close to being over from it. When people are drunk they say what they mean, not what they don't mean.
I've observed that the same is true when you are extremely tired and just don't give a damn like this kid probably was after his loss. And 20 is not a kid..

You are correct Joni.....every sports pundit....commentator...expert...all excused this quickly as an immature 20 YOA kid that said something in the heat of the moment...There was nothing but excuses and explanations for the comments and the bad sportsmanship of several Kentucky players that bolted from the floor refusing to shake hands after the game... This is simply another example of the political correctness out of control.....You nailed it and it's all BS!...It does all depend on who makes the comment as to the criticism and consequences...There would have been plenty of phony outrage had the situation been reversed and certainly would never have been excused as quickly as this incident.....

I hear some of that rap crap from cars sometimes and the use of certain words must be OK - that mess is full of it.

Just if standards are going to be applied then they need to be applied in all cases...The UK player is black and the Wisconsin player he called the 'n' word is white...If the roles were reversed there wouldn't be the rush to excuse this behavior and there would have been immediate reactions from the university....Certainly in the media an apology wouldn't certainly not have been enough...
