| Happened in my former city. Great place to live, great police department, good schools, nice mix of cultures in the area.
One officer who was overzealous and that's an understatement. I find it odd for Madison. Odd that the officer reacted in this way and odd that a neighbor would call the police for someone walking in the neighborhood. Very active with walkers, bikers, dog walking...just seems odd. Named one of the top ten best cities to raise kids.
Hopefully this man recovers well.

Welcome to America... Now you're paralyzed How can this be?....The officer was charged and soon to be fired....Thought this never happens and they 'get away' with everything....Gotta be a 'hoax'....not the attack but the officer being charged....

Yep. Pretty rare. At least one police force is doing what seems to be appropriate.

At least one police force is doing what seems to be appropriate. Yeah because as posted here (at nauseum) no other department could have ever gotten it right in the history of law enforcement...

It's ad nauseum. And, as long as police departments conduct their own investigations and State's Attorneys present cases for the defense at Grand Jury proceedings, it ain't gonna change.

Really hard to fathom Madison's Finest doing this. Great folks who sent a team of first responders to NYC after 9/11. Always there in a positive way for ALL in the community.

| There are bad guys and good guys in every profession.
Unfortunately, this profession often requires force to subdue the bad guys and sometimes it involves guns.
Drawing the line for when force becomes necessary is somewhat subjective (varies by individual). This is when certain bad guys become viral villains.
