| That's over in God's country. I like Tarkiln Bayou off Perdido Bay, mistakenly pronounced Tarklin Bayou. It was named Tarkiln because there used to be a tar kiln at the entrance where they boiled stumps for resin. This isn't my pic. | |

| Is that the one that was accessible on the old Bronson Field?
I did not appreciate the bayous growing up in Pensacola. My deal was to get to the beach and stay as long as possible! Niceville has Boggy Bayou, Rocky Bayou, and Tom's Bayou. All feed into Choctawhatchee Bay. We putt around in the summer in all of them and as often as possible watch the sunset from Boggy. Love it. | |

| The 1,000 acre Tarkiln Bayou property is adjacent to (South of) Bronson Field, but not accessible from Bronson Field, unless you walk along the shore of Perdido Bay. There are some really nice trails at Tarkiln... one paved that turns into a boardwalk, then a pier over the edge of the bayou. The other trail goes around the North edge of the bayou to the bay. | |
