Last time I had Google Earth I had to uninstall it because the program was so huge it about crashed the entire Alaskan grid.

Seriously. It's Google. They need to work on that shit.

I use google map, street view or satellite view on my phone and laptop. It's free. I didn't think anyone had google earth since the old AOL days.

Google Earth is way, way more awesome than Google Maps street view and things like that. But I think you would need a mainframe the size of a house and your own personal network and grid to be able to actually use it. I swear, I crashed the whole network last time I launched it.

Maybe Google has fixed that little problem... ?

Hey I just read where 5 out of every 1000 people in Alaska disappear every year...watch out for UFOs...LOL.

I don't know if that's true or not but a LOT of people go missing here! It's a good place to come to get lost.

Good article. Yeah, you read about people going missing all the time.

Here's the view of our house on Google Earth Pro.  I like it. That little mark behind the house is a photo I named "my back yard". You click on it and see a pic I uploaded.

So is google earth pro any lighter weight than it used to be, E? I don't want to be solely responsible for breaking the Alaskan internet.

It does take a lot of bandwidth.   One thing I like about it is that it lets you view pics that people have taken at particular places on the map.

This is just a pic of Google Earth's page when I clicked on one of the photo tags, not the 50 meg photo, but it does provide a link on their system to the full-res pic.

That is a great feature... mmmmannnn! Now I want to reinstall....
