| I was not aware of Pensacola Today. Saw a link for it on FB and it seems to cover some interesting things going on in Pensacola. Is this part of PNJ (USA Today)? Can't find a link to the source of it.
Anyway, this is an interesting article I read about a the covering over of a creek in downtown Pensacola.

I don't subscribe to PNJ and their online site just kicked me off from their "free trial." Although it will probably allow me back on in a few months. That's how it's been going ever since they went through all their change.
This site I came upon looks like a good source of Pensacola happenings. Anyone have the background on it?

| Thanks for the link. I wasn't aware of that site. Check out Northescambia.com and ricksblog.

| Check with them on that price, Eric. When they hit me up that the free subscription was over the ad said $5/month! That's internet only.
I'm aware of the other two sources. I like the variety.

| Spring Street got it's name because of that creek. Pensacola, like most old cities, installed it's sewage treatment plant near the end of a creek, stream, or river because gravity carries flows downhill. Prior to sewage-pumping lift stations, gravity was used exclusively to carry sewage to it's destination.
Many of the older cities (Europe in particular) just used the stream at first, then channelized and covered over the stream, then finally built treatment plants when the receiving body of water became too nasty.

I checked my bank statement, and I am paying $10 per month. I'll check with them on that.

| Call the subscription 1 800 number for PNJ. I got a $6.00 special for 3 months..... Delivery of Wednesday and Sunday paper, Holiday's and daily internet access. The paper is not worth more than that. | |

| That article linked in the first post reminds me of an article I read this week about "daylighting" streams.
