Obama's DOJ Sues Minnesota City for Rejecting Islamic Center

The Department of Justice has announced that it is suing the small town of St. Anthony, Minnesota, after a two-year investigation into the town's denial of a permit to create an Islamic cultural center.

The DOJ claims that the north Minneapolis town broke a federal law when it rejected the center in 2012.

"An injustice has been done," U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger said on August 27. "I will not stand by while any religious group is subject to unconstitutional treatment that violates federal civil rights laws."

The DOJ claims that the city violated the law when it refused the Abu Huraira Islamic Center the right to create an Islamic cultural center in the basement of the St. Anthony Business Center. The DOJ cites a violation of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act that was enacted in the year 2000.

In his press conference, Luger said that if local voters rose up to force their politicians to allow the Islamic center to be established and follow his interpretation of the law he would consider withdrawing the lawsuit.

Lugar may be putting hope in the wrong people, however, as many voters actually spoke out against the center at a city council meeting in June of 2012.

But the city fathers insist that the decision to deny the permit is based solely on zoning issues and had nothing to do with religion.

The same DOJ that fought tooth and nail against the little sisters of the poor convent that didn't want birth control in their healthcare... I've never seen more judicial activism from an administration... this is now surpassing fdr and woodrow wilson.

And, it would appear the SAAS was an advocate of the Black Panthers because in March 1970 the SAAS released a statement supporting the Black Panthers who were charged with plotting to blow up a police station, department stores, railroad tracks and the New York Botanical Gardens

I remember... but I wonder if any other president tried to appoint an open communist before obama? I can't remember any other... but I guess it wouldn't surprise me if another had.

And that's a great observation....this guy has made no attempt at deceptions...he's been straightforward with is philosophy and vision for this nation and yet a majority of citizens fell for it hook...line...and sinker...TWICE...

Yes, that's whats amazing about it.

Obama was and is surrounded by all these people and concepts openly and the sheep still followed not only once, but twice.

He flat out said during his first campaign that he was for redistribution, skyrocketing energy prices. I was amazed that people in this country would willing elect someone we knew so little about... that had so little experience... knew nothing about economics considering the recession... and flat out talked the socialist mantra. Then they did it again...lol. Gawd we're dumb.
