The shipwrecked Costa Concordia cruise liner has completed its final journey.

Pulled by tugboats and nudged by brisk winds, the wreck was eased Sunday into Genoa's port — where it will be scrapped.

The luxury liner struck a reef when its captain sailed too close to Giglio Island off Tuscany's coast Jan. 13, 2012, and capsized, killing 32 people.

A spectacular operation set the wreck upright in September 2013. On Wednesday, tugboats began the five-day journey to Genoa, headquarters of ship owner Costa Crociere Spa.

The wreck will be searched in hopes of finding the remains of an Indian waiter, the only body never found.

Ship captain Francesco Schettino is being tried for alleged manslaughter, causing the shipwreck and abandoning the boat with many passengers and crew still aboard.

Yep. This was one hellava deal. I'm a little sad for the big ship. To see a master piece go down like that. But I guess in a way going to the scrap yard is ship organ donation. She will live on.

I would like to help scrap it. Should be a lot of cool stuff come on the market pretty soon. I would like a souvenir for some strange reason..Plates, Silver wear, etc , would be a good conversation piece,, Well when we hit the rocks, I ..........LOL

That would be cool. I don't see any sites that are selling any parts yet, but you never know.

PASSENGERS from the stricken cruise liner Costa Concordia have reportedly tried to make a quick buck out of the disaster.

A one euro token from the ship's casino, pictured with a cabin key to prove its authenticity, had been listed as an item for sale on eBay, the Daily Mail reported.

Bidding for the souvenir starts at $900.

Another eBay user, gkaac, from Massachusetts, US, also offered buyers the chance to purchase the "genuine" token for $1800, but the listing has since been pulled by eBay.

It comes after an Australian man launched a "joke bid" to sell the stricken ship itself on the international shopping website.

That ad was also pulled, with an eBay spokesperson deeming it inappropriate for the website.

The Costa Concordia ran aground off the Tuscan island of Giglio on January 13 after hitting a sandbank.

Thirty-two people are feared dead and the ship's captain, Francesco Schettino, is currently facing charges of manslaughter and abandoning ship.
