I got a kick about the announcer calling it a Coronal Mass Injection... duh!  At least, that's what I heard.

A $2.6 Trillion catastrophe is possible if it hit us head on!

In 1859 a CME called the Carrington Event LINK caused Northern Lights to be seen as far South as Cuba!

Fires were started at telegraph stations and the telegraph operators were shocked when they touched the keys.  Even with the telegraph power sources turned off, there was enough energy present for the telegraph system to continue working.

I read about that. Amazing.

The more we are all connected the more they like to scare people for one reason or another.

Its good to prep people for loosing the power grid. They could use a natural cause excuse such as this without scaring people too much, but more than likely it would be from a EMP. But who knows, 10 years from now the sun really could eat us up. The sun is amazing!
