Gov Rick Perry has called in the national gaurd to stop the illegals

Monday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) announced he is deploying 1,000 Texas National Guard to the U.S. border with Mexico, saying he can not idly sit by while "our citizens are under siege."

Pointing out the tens of thousands pf unaccompanied minors only make up roughly 20 percent of those being apprehended illegally crossing the border, Perry said he can no longer wait for the president to act as gang members and drug cartels flood into Texas, causing crime to skyrocket. Perry pointed out Texas tax payers can not bear the expense of processing and housing the surge of illegal immigration caused by President Obama's 2012 executive action "Dream Act" which has given people in Central America the idea children will be allowed to stay once in the U.S.

Perry has repeatedly called on President Obama to visit the border, calling his refusal Obama’s “Katrina,” moment

I think this country has forgotten what heritage means. When Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie died at the Alamo that was a glimpse of heritage. From our everyday moms and dads to our founding fathers they left us a heritage. That heritage belongs to citizens of these United States. When people from the land of Pancho Villa, an outlaw come flooding across the border illegally they have no part in that heritage. They should have fought for their own futures against their own enemies foreign and domestic....is that racist ? No it's respect for our national sovereignty and pride in a costly legacy.

How long is Perry going to keep the National Guard at the border-forever? I don't think so.

I think the federal government is out of control and too much bullying of the states is occurring.

States need to be able to protect themselves fully.

and I am sure that if Texas really wanted to and they are fed up, they could create a state tax to pay for a really secure border. maybe that day is here.

There are reports that there are 100,000 Illegal documented gang members that have been brought into Texas... This seems reasonable that the citizens of Texas would certainly be concerned. When these individuals were processed and the tattoos and other markings were confirmed as gang members those should have been the first groups to be rounded up and deported back to their country of origin....

Yes, that is one of the problems. Because a lot of these ms13 gang members are teens. But our border patrols are told to treat them like any other child.

I think its important to notice the % of children coming across because people are being fooled. 20% , rick perry should know, hes the gov there

Is this the same rick, 3 things, perry that refused the expansion of Medicaid saying "Texas needs no help from the Federal Gov."?

This is a really stupid idea.  I read last night that those National Guard guys have absolutely no authority.  They can't detain or arrest suspects.  All they can do is get in the way... and maybe RADIO the real LEOs that suspects are in the area.

The Border Patrol is a Federal law enforcement agency. The National Guard is a military unit.

It may SEEM like an invasion, but the immigrants aren't coming with guns and tanks.

Are guns and tanks required to call it a invasion?

The national guard is exactly that isn't it? to guard our nation?

Well the law enforcement will soon be very sorry they let these criminals in by the thousands. Americans for the most part respect the police. These new cartel outlaw types will kill the police and their families just to make a point. I wonder if the mainstream media will cover the carnage.  It's coming mark my words.

from my understanding they have known about the seriousness a long time. I have read cartel story after another lately.

Yes it SHOULD have been but the cowh and his ag saw otherwise and the National Guard being utilized is a reflection of the epic failure and lack of leadership from elected and appointed officials in Washington DC... When Federal Officers that have sworn to an oath to uphold and enforce the laws and are told not to do so by their superiors...that's an unlawful order and those that gave the order or didn't enforce the laws should have already been removed from office...
