Ultimate Warrior dies of cardiovascular disease

Maricopa County spokeswoman Cari Gerchick says that’s the finding from an autopsy conducted Thursday by the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

The 54-year-old wrestler’s given name was James Hellwig. He collapsed April 8 while walking with his wife to their car at a Scottsdale hotel and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Scottsdale police have said there were no signs of foul play.

The Ultimate Warrior was one of pro wrestling’s biggest stars in the late 1980s.

Let me take this opportunity to get up on the soapbox. Obviously, he took steroids. Steroids are natural and synthetic hormone compounds that are chemically similar to cholesterol. In my college biochemistry class, my instructor said that the body will take steroids and make them into whatever the body needs (for the Ultimate Warrior, muscle bulk) and then convert them to cholesterol for future use if needed.

This is why so many bodybuilders die of cardiovascular disease. Their arteries are just FULL of cholesterol from years of steroid usage.

Note the similar chemical structures of these compounds.
