Well, that sucks!

I wish more people would sue the bastards. Just because the IRS is big, they think they can get away with this crap.

I read about this today too and I couldn't believe what I was reading. The really unbelievable part is the Feds can do this with no proof of prior benefit to the people they are stealing money from. Socialism is creeping closer.....

I'm glad I'm not an "oldest sibling." It looks like the lady is already suing the government over confiscating her IRS refund, so maybe the suit will have a good outcome.
Also, if the statute of limitations is 7 years on personal debt then why should it be without limit on debt to the feds?

And why go to the oldest sibling? If they are expecting the children to pay back the debt, then all of the surviving children should be involved.
This is just a ridiculous money grab from the government.
No one should be responsible for another person's debts.

Wow. Just when you think you've heard it all, right? I am the youngest, but I know there are many eldest in the same boat as me... I left home before I turned 18 and my parents have not given me anything since then. Actually, my dad is a good example of how wrong this is. He is the eldest and worked since he was 10 to support his parents and younger siblings. While my dad finished school, my ex-husband (an only child) had to quit school when he was 14 (he went on to earn two engineering degrees after we were married) to work full time to support his parents. We sent them fairly large sums of money on a regular basis when we were married, and I'm sure he still does. As I'm typing this, I keep thinking of more examples...

I agree that someone needs to sue them. Where is Rand Paul when we need him??

No matter who sues them, the JUDGES will make the decisions.. All the judges want is more money in their pockets so they can run for another political position or buy their way to bigger earnings..
