I have mentioned this before, but it deserves repeating.

Once intended to penalize drug kingpins, this insidious practice is relied upon to fund police departments nationwide.

Cops can take your stuff in violation of the fourth amendment.

Eminent domain is another form of government sanctioned theft of property. A friend of mine is dealing with the county seizing a valuable piece of property that he was offered 650K for several years ago - the county said they are going to buy it for 200K. He has a lawyer looking in to it but doesn't have much hope for success in at least getting market value.

Eminent domain should only be allowed for public infrastructure improvements, such as roads, bridges and maybe holding ponds when severe flooding occurs repeatedly.

It pisses me off when I read about a large private commercial development convinces the gubment to use eminent domain on a "holdout" parcel.Mad
