Hi Everbody,

I have been reading the PNJ forum for years but never posted. I saw where Ghost was opening this forum and thought I'd like to try it if you'll have a Texan.

I lived in Pensacola for many years before moving to Texas but look forward to keeping up with the Pensacola news here.

Looking forward to talking with everybody.

Wow! I lived in Longview for 35 years, grad, I worked in the brewery. What did you do there?

Worked for LeTourneau in the domes. Machinist/Welder Hot, Smokey. nasty ,Make the casings for 500lb bombs. Ugh,,,,,

My daughter lives On Barton Springs road.
She is a runner so she is able to use the park alot. Great place.

Hallmark, my daughter is a runner too. She is an IRONMAN 7x and got injured so now runs marathons, Boston etc.

Barton Springs is cool!

My daughter has not been running long. She hope to run 500 miles this year. She ran the Austin 1/2 marathon and that got her started, I hope to attend the marathon next year. Time will tell.

My daughter lives on the SW side toward Llano.

She's been running for years and apparently will as long as she can.

Hi, Tamale, I ran a few Marathons in Texas but was never good enough to qualify for Boston.
My respects to your daughter, Ironman is beyond belief.

If you saw my daughter being an IRONMAN is the last thing you would think that she had been doing.

She is 5 ft even and weighs right at 100. She is a go getter.
She participated in a couple of IRONMANS in Panama City , and we got to go watch her. Unbelievable! The last one she was in was Cour de Aline, Idaho (sp) someone ran into her in the swimming and she finished the rest of it with a severely broken hand. Don't know how she did it but she was definitely determined. They took her straight to the hospital and she had surgery the next day. That kinda made her wary of doing that again but she does enjoy the marathons.

Runners are another kind of tough, Tamale, a woman beat me me like a drum on time and she was seven months pregnant, that baby probably hit the ground running just like a baby antelope.

7 months? Wow, I didn't even realize they could do it that close to the baby being born.

It gets in their system and they've just got to get out there and go.

My son lives in Austin, I35 at Woodward. He rides his bike everywhere and loves the parks. Also The Jackalope the nearby Alamo Draft House Cinema.
