Maybe we could call it the "USS Pensacola Kitty Hawk" instead. Pretty good article from the News Journal. I was surprised to read where Quin Studer donated 10K towards a study to see if it were viable to bring the USS Kitty Hawk here.
I'd rather see it stationed at NAS. The USS Alabama draws in 300K visitors per year, So obviously a carrier would really be a huge tourist attraction for Pensacola.
Imagine if they could get the catapult working & Navy jets could land & take off while tourists stood by and watched. Awesome.
