Antonin Scalia is dead

IMO he did more damage to this country than bin Laden ever did. In fact we may have never had a 911 without him. He saw to it that votes stopped counting in Florida and George W Bush became POTUS. Who knows what would have happened with a Gore presidency? Probably not the hundreds of thousands of deaths in the Middle East, ISIS, and all our young soldiers returning home with missed limbs and PTSD.

But he's dead. Gone. Finito. Crossed the great divide. Gone to the great beyond.
And I'm not going to put on a mourning rag.

   These comments from the party of the 'compassionate'....to compare Scalia or ANY justice to obl speaks volumes about the individual posting....and yet the same poster lectures others about posts...what a joke....And sadly these types of comments are allowed but call hrc....a 'farmanimal' and that's just not right....again what a joke....

Republicans are always bragging about how much they love the Constitution, but just like the Bible, they apparently have never read it.

I suggest they read Article II Section 2 which reads:


[The President] shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.

Apparently there are some liberals who don't understand Art II, Section 2 nor the objections of some conservatives to an election year nomination, something that has been a negative for over 80 years - in BOTH party's. Nobody will stop BHO from making a nomination but - just like Hypocrite Harry Reid stalling 300 pieces of legislation during the last election cycle - good luck getting it through the Senate.

But of course now that the libertards see an opportunity to stack the bench they want to conveniently forget that longstanding tradition and start their usual whining, crying, and gnashing of teeth.

We certainly don't want the people of this country to have a say in who goes to the bench by selecting either a liberal or conservative President.

I think he lost any right to be defended on the basic of ethics or morals light years ago.

Once again nochain, check the real historical records. President Reagan's appointment of Justice Kennedy was confirmed in 1988. It was an election year. Would you like a list of all the justices confirmed in an election year, because Kennedy was not the only one?

Republicans just made up that story and claimed it was a precedent.

The people of THIS country have a say in who goes on the bench. In 2008 and 2012 WE the PEOPLE said we trust Barack Hussein Obama with those choices.
Republicans are truly slow to figure out that in national elections where most Americans vote, They LOSE.  Exactly as will happen in November of this year.

Including Kennedy there were at least 12 times it has happened. If you want to know what the precedent is, that's it. Try not to believe those guys running for POTUS as republicans this year. They all admit that every other guy running is a liar.  I think they may just be right.
