Apparently, he can comprehend even though he can't respond. I have to believe that is a good sign."

Okay well those seem to be good signs... I think.

I know there is evidence on both sides but I have always believed that people can comprehend even when they cannot communicate, like when they are in a coma. Or, I choose to believe that. I hope they can play music for him in his room. He would like that and it would help him recover. Some hospitals allow it and others don't. I think it also depends on whether you're in ICU, etc.

They could use earbuds if music bothered other folks.

Good idea... maybe headphones. I doubt they would let them stick anything in his ears.

I thought about headphones, but they might not fit too well over bandages and might damage stitches or stable attachments.

So sorry to hear this. While Teo and I had many disagreements, I still liked the guy. RIP, Teo.

I am completely heartbroken but like I told Pkr earlier today, I think we have to take whatever small comfort we can in knowing that Teo would not have wanted to live unless he was whole... unless he could live a full and vibrant life.

Does anybody know funeral details?

I saw them in the pnj obits. Eric... have you heard about Bob? They have found some lung cancer. I've tried to contact him... but he may not feel like talking right now. We really don't have any details... what a shitty week.

Bob just posted this: " Thanks to all for your concern. My tumor is 8 by 11 mm in size. I'm told if a tumor is larger than 10 mm in size, I won't have to go through an open lung biopsy. I can instead get a less invasive one, called a transbronchial lung biopsy, which is done through the mouth and airways to the lung. I have an appointment with the surgeon on Monday to see if my tumor is large enough for that method. If not I'll have to have it done the invasive way.

The biopsy will determine the source of the tumor. It could have metastisized from my Lymphoma cancer or from my Melanoma cancer or it could be independent of both. Once it's determined locally what kind of tumor it is, I'm going to go to one of the cancer centers in the southeast for further diagnosis and treatment. Either UAB (Birmingham), M.D. Anderson (Houston), Shands (Gainesville), Mayo Clinic (Jacksonville), Moffat (Tampa), or Cancer Centers of America in Atlanta. Which ones are in my insurance network will determine where I go."

I spent about 4 hours with Bob yesterday, bubba. He wanted me to keep it on the down-low, but I guess the cat is out of the bag...

I never met Teo, face-to-face and didn't know his name. Can you please post a link to the obit? I just went back to PNJ obits and it didn't jump out at me.
