| WASHINGTON -- House Republicans this week will vote to hand the heirs and heiresses of America's largest fortunes a $269 billion tax break by repealing the federal inheritance tax.
The legislation would shield the very richest families from taxes on the fortunes they inherit. After years of GOP attacks on the inheritance tax, also known as the estate tax, only a few thousand of the wealthiest families are subjected to it -- 4,700 total in 2013, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. Only individual fortunes worth over $5.43 million can be taxed under current law, an amount that doubles to $10.86 million for wealthy couples. The Republican proposal would eliminate all of these estates -- which are over 15,700 percent richer than the median American household -- from taxation.

| It's their money and has already been taxed atleast once.
It's scary what people can rationalize as their business these days.

| Oh, I think they ought to keep their money. I just think that expenditures should be cut when revenues are cut, y'know?
It's not like we're running a surplus right now.

| Agreed... revenue is up to almost 3 trillion. It's idiocy or worse that isn't enough. | |

| Five to ten million is peanuts and probably represents at least two to three generations of family group cooperation to raise when compared to some family fortunes... *****SMILE***** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0kcet4aPpQ |

| It's typical. Take a fundamental desire... such as helping your children... and tax it.
Again progressives can't figure out a subversive desire to undermine freedom...
or even what is none of their business. Carry on comrade.

They've waited hard for that money. You're free to tax Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Hilary Clinton, John (Heinz) Kerry, Jay Rockefeller, Mark Warner, Jared Polis, Frank Lautenberg, Richard Blumenthal, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi... Who all have more than $30 million for all you can get... Oh!!!!! And let's not forget those Kennedy's... And all the liberal movie stars who make a whole lot more than five million in a single year. As they say in military..... Lead by example! *****CHUCKLE***** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cQNkIrg-Tk |

| That money was earned, taxed atleast once, and doesn't belong to the leftists...
but the leftists feel entitled to some ownership or control of it... lol.
A person must be taught to reach that conclusion... it's not natural.

| It's interesting... that the left proposes an act that would be illegal and unethical if the method and act were not via the force of govt. They couldn't single out people to steal from... they couldn't discriminate from and remove rights from small segments of our citizenry... they should've been taught this during childhood. The simple fact is that our progressive tax system already targets the wealthiest and requires from them much more than those less successful citizens. This is an ideology of envy and hate... based nothing on the realities and ethics of the situation. It's just another leftist propaganda talkingpoint that only fools those that refuse to examine what they're feed. Congratulations comrades... what you demand enables govt powers that will someday be used against you and your descendants. | |

It appears you have no intention of holding your own accountable much less make them lead by example... No surprise there. Next time your fearless leader wants to negotiate a deal why don't you ask him why he gives away $50 billion to some country that we don't owe squat too. Or how your presidential candidate girl that you support so much has moneyed interests in South American countries that send their troops to make the workers work or get shot. The left is just as bad as the right when it comes to greed your blinders just don't want to see it and it takes someone like you to believe what they want to sell you. What did Gruber call people like you? Now I'm going to sit back on my front porch and watch the crops grow on the family farm that we've worked for generations to build up 'for ourselves' and not people like you (and amounts to the peanuts worth of cash you bitch about in the grand scale of things). *****SMILE***** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dXR5Dk8YNw My suggestion is that perhaps you should work together as a 'family group' to build up something of your own to retire on instead of worrying about other peoples money. |

Differences of opinion are encouraged, but don't have to become personal. (The last post uses "you" or "your" 14 times... obviously, it is getting personal.)

It's absolute idiocy that she can be a credible populist candidate.

It's absolute idiocy that she can be a credible populist candidate. When there are interviews with voters and the only reason for supporting her....She's a woman and it's time to elect a woman...There's a % of voters that couldn't care about her record...accomplishments [or lackthereof]...or her stance on issues....In todays politics it's sad at what people will blindly follow....oh, that's right we're not even done with the last mistake the majority made...twice...

If that's our choice I would fully support an overthrow.

So your conclusion is that hrc is more of the hated 1%ers than ordinary folks?...They recovered quickly and nicely from being 'flat broke' not too long ago.... Prior to Obama's election, the first time, the Clinton's net worth was listed as over $200 million. Now it's listed as only around $60 million. I know because I was curious and looked it up at that time. Either they made some really bad investments or we're not being told the truth which wouldn't surprise me about the Clinton's at all... In which case it could be significantly higher than the $200 million of a few years ago. *****SMILE***** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSR6ZzjDZ94 |
