| Eric, this is really interesting, the story about your father's boat lift invention. I had a boat in one like that in a different area. Even knowing the weight of the motors on the back Should keep the boat from tipping off of the forklift it still made me hold my breath seeing the boat so high in the air, moving around in a very "unboat like" manner. It was a good idea for sure. | |

All we had was giant farm tractors that we had to modify extensively. You couldn't pick up a fraction of the weight that the giant fork lifts of today can lift. On some heavy boats we had to jump on the backside of the lift to keep the tires on the ground... and that was in addition to the 3,000 lbs of pig iron we had on the back! | |
