| It's pretty choppy... was that one of those long cigar boats? I've got a little speed boat that's a blast to drive... it's like a formula one car on water... but there's no way I could run it on that chop. | |

| These are the ocean racers, man. It takes two to drive one. One to steer it and one on the throttle. When they go airborne, the throttle man cuts back on the throttle, or the engines will overrev. | |

| I know you guys love these races but I've just gotta express my concern for the dolphins and turtles during these races. Collisions and the effects of noise are well-documented and the high speeds make it impossible to avoid harm…
Florabama wrecking the beach and dunes one weekend, boats the next…no wonder the nesting numbers are down…
Seems like we are constantly ramping up the intensity of our entertainment down here.
I can't understand why watching a sunset, sailing, swimming, surfing, walking the beaches aren't fun enough. | |

| I know what you are saying is true to some extent but hurricanes and runoff from golf courses development and agriculture probably do far more damage...I do think they need to be more careful over in crystal river...I saw a lot of manatees with prop cuts on their backs... | |

| I use a prop saver on my sailboat outboard. It helps prevent prop scarring on sea grass (not that I would intentionally motor there) and it should help prevent damage to dolphins an other large critters. http://www.propsavers.com | |
