They need to throw some industrial vacuum cleaners up there and get rid of the space debris. I read yesterday where they had to jump into a Soyuz capsule because of a last minute debris discovery (and they didn't have time to scoot the space station out of the way).

This is a NASA graphical representation of what is in Low Earth Orbit... the same orbit the ISS is in...
