I love boats and everything, but I don't think I am adventurous enough to try to sail to the North Pole area.
Reminds me of the Ernest Shackleton expeditions to Antarctica. Anyone else ever read those books?
The USS Jeannette had a steam engine, but it does seem a little nuts to me. We just had a sailboat get stuck in the ice floes in the Chukchi Sea up near Barrow. CG had to fly up from Anchorage, but he was already too far gone so they had to enlist a nearby icebreaker that was on a research trip.
