| I'm having a problem that appears to be coming from the website I mentioned above.
There is a medium-sized white page, a blank gif according to elements inspection, that pops up now and again. It's been happening for about four days. There is an "X" in the right upper area of the page. I have to X out of it before I can proceed with browsing.
I've done everything I can think of to do.....MalwareBytes, Spybot S&D, reboot, virus check (which is on continually), you name it. I can't get rid of it.
Illiweb tracks hits on websites and forums, according to what I learned.
Anybody else having this problem? Or any ideas about how to fix it?
Thanks! | |

| So far, it seems that illiweb is not malware. The first hit I got on it in Google was that people were using illiweb to help with Forumotion... the host for our forums. Apparently it was down for a while and then started working.
I am hesitant on going to their website, however because I don't want the same problem that you have Mel. Let me keep looking.

| Mel, does this happen on all web pages, just the forum, or what? What program(s) are you running when the problem occurs? | |

| Illiweb seems to provide this forum with it's graphics. I inspected a post and found dozens of references to illiweb icons and such. The code below seems to be the one that calls up your empty.gif... which I suspect is the background to the Forum pages, but don't know for sure. - Code:
-
<body background="http://2img.net/i/fa/empty.gif" bgcolor="#000000" text="#000000" link="#800000" vlink="#800000" class=""> Now, why you are getting this display, I dunno.

| Right, Eric, that's the code. And yes, forumotion.com uses illiweb. I found several cross-references to that effect.
This is happening on all pages, not just our site. Life's little mysteries......

| OK - I get this empty gif most often when I visit PDF, although it occasionally comes up on news sites as well. I rarely get it on EDP. | |

| Maybe there is something stuck in your cache. This might be a good time for you to delete history and your web browser's cache. | |

| No promises, but it might help. At the worst, you will probably have to enter user name and passwords for forums again... something that is kept as a cookie and submitted to the forum computer every time you visit. | |
