Oleg Tinkov, head of Tinkoff Group (the bank)

A Russian man scanned a credit card application, changed fine print and sent it to the bank.  The bank agreed to it!  Among other things, there was Zero percent interest, no bank fees, a $91,000 fee for unilateral changes to the contract, and $182,000 to cancel the contract.  The bank sued for unpaid fees that the original contract called for and lost in court... the contract was valid.

According to Dmitry Mikhalevich, the man's lawyer:
Quote :
"They signed the documents without looking. They said what usually their borrowers say in court: 'We have not read it,'” says Mikhalevich.

Despite the victory, (the man) decided to sue Tinkoff Credit Systems for fines of 24 million rubles ($727,000) for not honoring the terms of the agreement, and the decision to terminate the contract without paying 6 million rubles ($182,000) fee.
