Here's a heartwarming picture. 99 year old Harold Percival, World War II veteran, had no family to attend his funeral - until an appeal was made for veterans to please attend. His funeral was today 11/11 at 11am.

Classic Heinlein.
I am a huge Robert Heinlein fan... I've read everything he ever wrote (both him and Louis L'Amour... they have more similarities that you'd think). You ever read him, E?

I did some research and cannot say I have read ANY of his stuff. I am a huge scifi fan, so I will seek his stuff out. Which books should I start with first?
Of course, I watched Starship Troupers, but that's not like reading his books. Since my eyes are going out, I will seek audiobooks at our extensive county library system. The Jefferson County library system here near Birmingham has 40 libraries and they have audiobook selections.

Hey. That's too close to the truth for me.
I remember skiing one time (I was an EXCELLENT water skiier) and saw three girls on a beach near the shore. I wanted to meet 'em, so I dug in deep and cut toward them, letting go of the rope to ski up to them. I was going to carve a majestic arc in foot-deep water and step out of the ski and walk up them nonchalantly.
Well, when I started to carve the arc, I leaned back too far and the back of the ski came out of the water, then off my feet. The ski proceeded to fly up the beach and hit the girls in the shins... ouch!
And one of the "girls" was the mama! Oh, shit!
(I wound up dating one of the girls, but no fireworks happened between us.)

One pet seems to be saying "What the hell do you want?" and the other one seems to be saying "I love you."

You simply cannot go wrong with a Heinlein book, so you could close your eyes and pick one at random and be pleased as punch with the outcome. Starship Troopers is a great book. I never saw the movie... didn't want it to ruin my Heinlein experience, haha. That said, my other all-time favorites are probably the following:
Stranger in a Strange Land (truly a classic) The Number of the Beast The Cat Who Walks Through Walls Time Enough for Love Friday
I used to be pretty into sci fi when I was younger. Heinlein was The Best, note my use of caps.
