| I was reading Uncle John's Bathroom Reader the other day and it had an interesting fact that I'd like to share.
At traditional weddings, there is a kiss at the end of the ceremony.
Okay, there is love and all that stuff, but why a kiss?
They have a good series of "books" that work in the "office". http://bathroomreader.com/

| I'm thinking because in most cultures it would be inappropriate for us to throw-down and bone right there in front of our parents, grandparents, siblings, a bunch of little kids,... etc.
??
Just a thought.

| 'Tis true, though. In the distant past... And in some cultures, the consummation of a marriage was witnessed by more than one person. A marriage was not considered complete until then. Sounds kinky. | |

I think you maybe on the something. Make a wedding a real event. Just keep the kids home. Las Vegas adult Wedding services. I like it. Might start a branch here. LOL Then maybe not

| You crack me up, Riceme.
I also find it interesting and perhaps rather insincere that today's brides still wear white. Really? Seriously?
Anyone know of a virgin bride??

Anyone know of a virgin bride?? As a matter of fact, I do know one. She was in her mid to late twenties when she married. Still married almost thirty years later... to the same guy.

Anyone know of a virgin bride?? I completely agree with you, Stormy. I know I've told you this story before, but I was going to wear a beautiful, colorful silk Nicole Miller dress for my wedding until I was told by my friend (the wife of my now ex-husband's best friend) that my fiance REALLY wanted me to wear a traditional white wedding dress. So I found a very simple off-white, tea-length dress at David's Bridal in Mobile for $99 (WOOHOO!!) and wore that. I actually really did like the dress, so far as traditional wedding dresses go... it was very pretty, very simple, and cheap! ...only to find out later from my husband that he did not, in fact, ever say that he wanted me to wear a traditional white wedding dress. He wanted me to wear whatever I WANTED to wear.
