| Was the duck penis study an appropriate use of taxpayer money or another bird-brained idea by a looney-tune controlling our money? Will you benefit from this study? .female ducks may not reply.
The National Science Foundation has been criticized for spending $384,949 on a Yale University study that examined, among other things, the particulars of male duck penis

| That's a fine link you have there Joani.
Can you find a smaller link?
It's messing up the zoom.
Never mind... I changed it myself.

| I hope that I wasn't the only person seeing microprint. It was as if the zoom level went to 20%
Bob just posted a link that did that too. Maybe there is a problem with my iPad. I changed my settings to default trying to fix something else and may have turned off word wrap or something. I won't mess with the next one and I'll ask if anybody else is having problems.

I only saw Bob's linked article before you changed it, and not this one, but I didn't see anything weird or odd about Bob's posted article at all... I think it might be something in your iPad settings, dude. Duck penises?? Why are we paying for duck penises in these dire times?? Follows along with the cookbook, winterfest and winery music.

| So-called Stimulous money... For research.
The idea was that it was supposed to give the economy a quick shot in the arm. This researcher has "been frugal" with the funds... squeaking another years research beyond his original proposal. Poor research topic... academic at best... and not much stimulous.

| Geez....did ya'll read this article? I had no idea duck penises are nine inches long in the summer months, or that they are corkscrew-shaped. Counter-clockwise, that is. The female duck's anatomy is corkscrew-shaped as well....though it's clockwise.
Some people are using this research to bolster Akin's claim that the female body can shut down fertilization that may come about as a result of rape.

We're gonna have to do some intense research on this...

| Those people are idiots. And Akin is an idiot. Of course a rape can result in pregnancy BUT most abortions are not because of rape! |

I agree, Neko. It alarmed me to read that some people are using the results of the duck research to justify Akin's stance. There's no comparison. We women don't have cork-screw shaped gentalia, nor do men. I'll admit I learned a lot about ducks from the research. I still can't wrap my head around the nine inch duck thingys.
