Great post, EE.

I do not eat margarine at all. Ever, if I can help it. I am a butter eater. Trans fats are classified as cooties, much like artificial sweeteners are, in my book.

Glad the pointed out at the end. I use butter for nothing would not even consider margarine.

I use olive oils for everything now.

Excellent point 3w... I also use a lot of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. I prefer organic, but so long as it's cold-pressed am not too picky about it being organic.

That said, I seem to recall seeing an olive oil spread in the market recently but didn't look @ingredients, but haven't tried it... No need really, I like to dip bread in olive oil with garlic and spices.

I try to limit carbs especially at night. I use olive oil to cook my eggs and spread it on the toast. It is exceptionally good for you plus i am lactose intolerant..

Never ever ear margarine either consider it a highly processed food.

Garbage in garbage out
