| Been there done that sevral times. Guy yaste me and yancy were driving over the bay bidge when two of the boards flew off, one onto the bridge got all dinged up yancy,s went over the side into the bay, he jumped off the bridge and paddled it to gulf breeze where we picked him up. Truth.
It was not uncomon in the days of aloha racks for them to come off
1 someome forgot to strap them
2 the strap broke
3 the entire rack assembly on occassion would come loose from the gutter and all the boards would fly off still attached the rack,,,,,

| Glad u asked, i use a slyde like the video. It is one of the coolest things ever, you need a pair of fins too.
basically it is body surfing with a hand plane which hydroplanes the first third of your vody out of the water. You can fo much faster and further than body surfing alone but i still love to body surf. I am a huge proponent of anything that gets you closer to the water not further away like say an SUP. although i suppose there is some place for them?
After an hour of hand planing i promise you have had a hell of a work out.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ib4SHMo0GX8&feature=related That looks like fun. I like to body surf. I assume it is made of glassed foam like a surfboard? Looks like I could make one in a day or two (allowing glass to dry, etc.)

| Yes you could could. Some people just use wood. You will need some way to connect a leash So u can swim it out and also a good pair of fins.
I use Da Fins from hawaii. There are three type i am aware of, diver fins huge stiff, body boarding or paipo fins square and stiff, lifeguards use swimming fins they are more flexible not as large as divers nor boxy like the paipo ones same ones i use.
Lots of fun you can this when the surf is small and get long tube rides.
Next matt surfing another way to get close to our Mother.

| Hey guys, Do you want your own forum under the Hobbies section? I feel kinda bad that I made one for cycling but overlooked surfing. That's probably because I KNOW how to ride a bicycle. I'm not sure how to do it, but maybe we could move all of the posts about surfing into one central place. I just DO not understand how a human being can stand up on a board in the mad surf and not fall off. It is beyond my comprehension.

| Surfing is a sport, a lifestyle pb its fine where it is. Modern surfers train hard eat right eschew drugs and are committed. Yesterday ar Kirra we all saw why Kelly is 11 time champ winning the season opener. Sure hope they post his 10 point ride against local favorite Mick Fanning so we can post here. It was at that moment with 1:26 left in the heat you knew Kelly would not be denied. It was like the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs a full count and down 3 runs with the bases loadedwhat Kelly dis was that sensational.... In the meantime we all started surfing for one reason , kelly included... surfer girls......! | |

Did she go in the water without a wetsuit? I sang that song to my wife the other day when it was playing on the stereo... so true, God I love that woman...
