**ALERT** Critical vulnerability @Adobe PDF Reader :: PLEASE READ ARTICLE LINKED BELOW!!

Quote :
Adobe has identified critical vulnerabilities (CVE-2013-0640, CVE-2013-0641) in Adobe Reader and Acrobat XI (11.0.01 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh, X (10.1.5 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh, 9.5.3 and earlier for Windows and Macintosh, and Adobe Reader 9.5.3 for Linux. These vulnerabilities could cause the application to crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.

Adobe is aware of reports that these vulnerabilities are being exploited in the wild in targeted attacks designed to trick Windows users into clicking on a malicious PDF file delivered in an email message.

Adobe is in the process of working on a fix for these issues and will update this advisory when a date for the fix has been determined.

If you do not wish to upgrade at this time as a solution to this issue, as the article suggests, I can recommend two nice alternate PDF readers that I use.

Foxit Reader:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/

*Nitro Reader + Writer (my favorite of all by FAR... super slick):
http://www.nitroreader.com/

Cute PDF: (EDIT: MY BAD. I forgot... CutePDF is a PDF Writer, not a Reader)
http://www.cutepdf.com/

They all work great and actually each have some handy functions that Adobe does not, in addition to being quicker, more lightweight applications.

Thanks, sweetie.

I don't usually click on e-mail links. I get them from (supposedly) Paypal, banks and such, inviting me to click their link to log in to view my statement, or to review the latest settings.

Nope!

Can you say "fishing expedition"?

I don't click on email links either, but I open a lot of PDF files off my hard drive!

Like I am REALLY gonna enter my username/password based upon an e-mailed link.

The issue with this threat is that it comes to you as an email from someone you may know with a PDF file attached that contains malicious code. I have people email me PDF files all day. The malicious PDF can run code on your system that could allow a hacker to gain control of your system, they are hoping you open the PDF file and hoping you click the links but just opening it could cause you problems.

Thanks for the heads up Riceme
